It’s Selection Sunday for the 2026 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament. The NCAA Selection Committee will reveal the 68 teams that will compete in this year’s national tournament, known as “The Big Dance” or “March Madness.”
When the selections are made, teams jump for joy. “It’s a dream come true,” say the players. “Something you wait for your whole life.” Confetti falls from the ceiling, fans cheer and pep bands play.
Others get passed over and end up in tears.
The tournament begins this week, with the “First Four” games on Tuesday and Wednesday. Winners will advance through the first round, second round, “Sweet Sixteen,” “Elite Eight,” and “Final Four.” The finals will be held in Indianapolis...
