We will always mourn those who lost their lives in the events of September 11, 2001. We grieve with their families. We grieve as a nation. But, is it time to let go of the anger?

The morning of September 11, 2001, is a morning that we'll not forget. It's one of those "flashbulb" events which sear and blind our minds and memories. It's like those who remember the assassination of JFK. They remember precisely what they were doing when word came that Kennedy had been shot. So it is with 9/11. Talk to just about anyone, and they will recite the particulars of what they were doing when the news came that the towers were toppling.

Homiletics contributing writer, Dr. Carlos Wilton, also remembers. Here is his report:

On the afternoon of September 11, 2001, I had to clear my head. That morning, my wife had phoned from work and said, "Turn on the news. An airplane just hit the World Trade Center." In the hours since her call, I watched TV obsessively. I saw one tower fall, then the other. I felt numb.

Oddly, it was a gorgeous, sunny day. "A walk on the boardwalk," I thought to myself, "That's what I need."
