Golfers qualifying for the U.S. Open sometimes have delusions of grandeur about their actual ability to play.

At a Glance

The U.S. Open golf tournament, one of four "majors," starts soon. Thousands of amateurs are attempting to qualify, and to do so, they must submit their "handicaps." For example, a kid says he plays a 5-handicap game, meaning that generally he shoots five strokes over par. Alas, the handicap these amateurs claim they have doesn't always match the actual performance on the course. In short, they lie! We're shocked! Imagine: a golfer stretching the truth! Not too smart. And that's where we dive into the Proverbs text, a text in which Wisdom is yelling at us: "Hey people, wise up!"
