Baby talk is something parents use with infants. However, baby talk sometimes occurs between the parents themselves! The apostle Paul is tired of baby talk among adults, and he feels as though he has to resort to it with these infantile Christians at Corinth.

Researchers tell us that if we could be a fly on the wall in someone’s home, we might hear the husband and wife cooing to each other using baby talk. These same psychologists say that such baby talk is a sign of a healthy relationship.

Think about it. If you don’t have a healthy relationship as a couple, how could you possibly say, “I luv you,” “You’re the hot sauce on my taco, baby” or “You’re my noodle boodle”

Don’t gag. Some couples enjoy talking this way occasionally. And those couples who do probably have a good, strong relationship.

Think back to the sitcom “Everybody Loves Raymond.” Whenever Ray Barone walks in and sees Debra working in the kitchen, he calls her by some silly nickname — baby bop, bubble wrap, doodles, jambalaya, jelly cheeks, lucky pants, monkey, puddlepants, sniggles, twinkles.
