We as preachers may especially appreciate the humorously pessimistic picture of marriage in singer Lyle Lovett’s fan-favorite “She’s No Lady, She’s My Wife.” It’s a picture of a reluctant, whiny husband, a controlling wife and a prisonlike marriage. And if you remember the tumultuous tabloid breakup of Lyle and Julia, then a new layer of cathartic commentary emerges.

While Lyle likened his marriage to incarceration, there are other men who find competition emerging from theirs, and no such competition is more spectacular than that which is being played out on July 7 in Sonkajärvi, Finland.
